Gold Market Data
The gold market's fundamentals from official sources — who holds how much, how it changed, and what it costs to mine. Every row states its reporting period and a source you can check; the figures refresh as soon as the source publishes.

Central bank gold reserves
Gold each country holds as official reserves, as its central bank reports to the IMF (IRFCL dataset). Countries report on different schedules — some monthly, some quarterly — so each row shows its own period.

Tonnes are converted from the reported troy ounces (1 tonne = 32,150.7466 oz). Not real-time — figures change when a central bank reports a new period, which we pick up within an hour. Estimated value uses spot gold at $4,197.89/oz on 9 Oct 2026. View the IMF IRFCL dataset
Physically backed ETF
Gold held by SPDR Gold Shares
The world's largest gold ETF holds physical bullion to back its shares. The figure is separate from national reserves and is a daily read on institutional buying and selling.
Tokenized gold
Physical gold backing digital tokens
Gold the issuer holds on behalf of token holders — not national reserves. Rows marked "read on-chain" show the token's total supply at the time of reading, which the issuer attests is backed one-for-one.

Gold mining costs
Gold miners' production cost
All-in Sustaining Cost (AISC) is the total a miner spends per ounce to produce gold and keep production going — the price below which mining starts to lose money.
This section appears once each figure has been verified against the company's quarterly report.
AISC is not one accounting standard across companies (by-product credits and attributable share differ), so always read it with its reporting basis.
